Hector F. Amaya, 63, died on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital - Somerset. Born in Bogota, Colombia, he was the son of Primitivo and Ana (Valbuena) Amaya. Hector was full of life and always had a smile on his face. He was loving, sincere, hard worker, a man of many traits, not afraid to work on anything and did everything from fixing cars to remodeling homes. He loved animals and going to the beach.
Hector loved watching soccer, especially his favorite Colombian team, Millonarios – he never missed a game.
Hector was predeceased by his parents and his brother Gerardo. He is survived by his wife Ana; children, Carolina and Fernando; stepchildren, Letty and Sergio; siblings, Gladys, Janeth, Cecilia,Rosalba,Jose,Yomar,Gustavo, Isabel,Ricardo, Sandra,Daniel and William; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Henny and Luna (his partner).
He will be greatly missed.
Gathering with the family will be 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook. The funeral service will begin 10:00 AM, Monday, at the funeral home. Burial at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains will follow.
