William (Bill) Walter Fehr, 96, a long-time resident of Bound Brook, NJ passed away after a brief illness on March 29, 2024.
Born December 19, 1927, the son of William V. Fehr and Ameilia Walter Fehr. He graduated from Bound Brook High School and received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Newark College of Engineering (now the New Jersey Institute of Technology).
Bill was employed by the Union Carbide Corporation for many years as a draftsman and later as a mechanical engineer. After taking early retirement, he worked as a consultant for American Cyanamid for several years.
Bill proudly served as a member of the New Jersey National Guard from 1948-1955 achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was also an active member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 41 Board of Review. Bill spent his final years living at The Delaney of Bridgewater.
Bill was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret (Fahy) Fehr, his daughter Kathleen, and son, Robert. He is survived by his son Kevin and daughter-in-law Barbara Mattera Fehr and many friends.
A gathering will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ.
A funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, 600 Harris Avenue, Middlesex, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. All services are under the supervision of Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home.
