William George Legge, Sr., 72, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset. Born in Montréal, Canada, he emigrated to the United States when he was seventeen, settling in Middlesex in 1976. William worked as a foreman at Johns Manville Corporation for twenty-two years, before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Post No. 304, American Legion, Manville; Thomas J. Kavanaugh VFW Post No. 2290, Manville; Somerset Aerie No. 2137, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bridgewater; Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge No. 1388, Bound Brook, and Bound Brook/Somerset Lodge No. 988, Loyal Order of Moose. He loved the outdoors and fishing. William is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Florence, his children, Debbie Jean Legge, Barbara Ann Burton, Beverly Brembt, and Billy Legge, Jr., his grandchildren, Peggie, Amanda, Tyler, Jackie, Christie, Eugene, Leslie, and Kevin; his siblings, Walter Legge, DeeDee Maples, and Sandra Wardwell, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Cremation was private. Visitation with the family will be 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Sunday, January 3, 2016, at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be 9:30 A.M., Monday, January 4, at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Middlesex. Memorial donations may be made to Mooseheart , c/o Bound Brook/Somerset Moose Lodge No. 988, 222 Talmage Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ 08805.
