Walter J. Boszczuk, Jr., 61 died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at RWJ University Hospital, Somerset in Somerville. Born in Bound Brook, he was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Bound Brook High School class of 1975 and of Raritan Valley Community College. He joined the US Navy and served on the USS Stephen W. Groves. After his discharge from the Navy he entered the US Army and achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He served in Beirut, Lebanon and was honorably discharged after serving 22 years. He was a proud serviceman and belonged to many service organizations including, Tin Can Sailors, American Legion Giles Biondi Post #63 inBound Brook, the Thomas J. Kavanaugh V.F.W. Post #2290 in Manville, the American Legion John W. Lupo Post #306 in Middlesex, the AM Vets in Manville and the Marine Corps League #1284. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Bridgewater Eagles, the Bound Brook Moose and the Bound Brook Elks. He was predeceased by his father Walter J. Boszczuk Sr.. Surviving are his mother Florence Trakowski Boszczuk of Bridgewater, his sisters Susan ( Dennis ) Butt of Hamburg, PA and Prudence ( Michael ) Holmes of Luray, VA, his fiancé, Jeni Casale of Somerset, 9 nephews and 10 great nephews. Visitation will be Monday December 3, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook. Funeral services will begin 9:00 AM, Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook. Burial will follow at B.G. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown NJ at 12:30 PM. Donations in his name may be made to Michael J. Hayes Memorial Scholarship, C/O Marine Corps League #1284, PO Box 245, Manville, NJ 08835
