Vittoria Caccavelli

Vittoria Caccavelli, 89, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Spinete, Italy, she was the daughter of Michele and Filomena (Calabrese) DeMagistris. She emigrated to the US in 1954. She lived in New York for a short time, before settling in Bound Brook in 1959. She lived Piscataway for 35 years, before moving to Milford 12 years ago. Mrs. Caccavelli worked at Ortho Diagnostics (Johnson & Johnson), Raritan for 20 years, before retiring in 1990. She was an avid Yankees fan and loved gardening. She was a communicant of St. Frances Cabrini Church, Piscataway. Mrs. Caccavelli was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Giovanni in 2010. She is survived by her six children, Joseph and his wife, Carolyn, of Pittstown; Peter and his wife, Patricia, of Florida; Phyllis Caccavelli of Milford; Maria and her husband, Vincenzo Cannuscio of Williamstown; John Caccavelli of Milford and Ozzie and his wife, Dawn of Milford; her grandsons, Michael, Marc, and Anthony; her great granddaughters, Ava and Sophia and her brother, Tulio DeMagistris. Funeral services will begin 9:00 AM Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Piscataway. Entombment will be at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Visitation with the family will be Friday, 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
