Virginia Morecraft Santomen, 89, died peacefully Thursday, April 16, 2015, at home, surrounded by her daughters. Born June 29, 1925, in Bound Brook Hospital, she was a lifelong borough resident. She graduated Bound Brook High School, Class of 1939. Ginny worked with her husband, Thomas, at Santomen’s Hardware Store , Bound Brook, for over twenty-five years. She also worked with her family in the Brook Candy Shop , and later at the Brook Theater , both in Bound Brook. She was a lifelong member and former Deacon of the Presbyterian Church, Bound Brook, and was a volunteer with the Salvation Army. Ginny was predeceased by her husband, Thomas R. Santomen, who died in 1993, and her siblings, Maude Pedersen, Lillian Leon, Betty Peltz Crookall, Gladys, Elwood, Kenneth, William, and Herbert Morecraft. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Antonio) Toscano of Hampstead, New Hampshire, Betty (James) Wuelfing of North Brookfield, Massachusetts, Virginia R. Santomen of Bound Brook; her grandchildren, Rick (Melanie) Toscano of New Hampshire, Bethany (Joseph) Runnels of Massachusetts, Kyle (Nickie) Wuelfing of Ohio, and her beloved great-granddaughters, Sydney and Allie Toscano. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 18, at the Presbyterian Church, 409 Union Avenue, Bound Brook 08805, with the Reverend Dr. Nancy R. Birdsong, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery. Friends will be received 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Friday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church Deacons’ Fund .
