Vincent Yannetti

Vincent, J. Yannetti, Sr., 95, died peacefully Sunday, December 10, 2017, at his home. Born in Bound Brook, he was the son of Joseph and Teresa (Mainelli) Yannetti. Vincent was a graduate of Bound Brook High School, Class of 1941. A United States Army Veteran of World War II,, serving from 1943 to 1946, Vincent was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. Vincent returned home and married in 1947. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Bound Brook. and a member of the Leisure Club, the Thomas J. Kavanaugh Post No. 2,290, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Manville, and the Giles-Biondi Post No. 63, American Legion, Bound Brook; He was an avid bowler, and a top horseshoe pitcher. He was the Vice President of the Middlesex Horseshoe Pitching Club, President, Tournament Director, and Statistician of the New Jersey State Horseshoe Pitching Club. In 1979 he was inducted into the National Horseshoe Hall of Fame. Vincent was predeceased by his wife, Irene, in 2012, his brothers, Chris and Vincenzo, and sister, Beatrice McGovern. He is survived by his children, Vincent, Jr., and his wife, Faith, of Randolph, Mark and his wife, Denise, of Arizona, Robert, of Bound Brook, and Maryann Weir and her husband, Carl, of Arizona; his grandchildren, Kristin Yannetti, Lauren Kahler, and Claudine Smorra Gathering with the family will be 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Thursday, December 14, at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin 8:45 A.M. Friday, at the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Bound Brook. Interment will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery
