Theresa Rodrigo

Theresa Rodrigo, 97, died peacefully surrounded by her family. Born in Jersey City, she was the daughter of James and Amelia (Cecchini) Scarcella. Theresa moved to Bound Brook as a young girl and remained a resident until moving to an assisted living facility in Bridgewater two years ago. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her days caring for her home and family and took great pride in both. Known for her sense of humor, she loved hosting family gatherings and telling entertaining stories with her sister Evelyn. She was truly one of a kind. Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Castro, her three brothers and their wives, Peter and Mary, Alfred and Georgia, James and Antoinette, her sister, Evelyn Scarcella,her niece, Annette Hawkins, and her great grandson, Ethan Lopez. She leaves behind her son Donald Rodrigo and his wife, Sandy of Clinton; daughter Elaine Schiavone, and her husband Jim of Bridgewater; her grandchildren Sharon Rodrigo and Kristen Lopez and her husband Sam, great granddaughter, Zoey and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 AM , Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Bound Brook. Burial will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Gathering with the family will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
