Theresa Fisher

June 29, 1951 — April 20, 2015

Theresa was born June 29, 1951 in Newark, New Jersey, to loving parents Henry and Dorothy Bariexca. One of six children, Theresa had two brothers and three sisters. Theresa grew up in Newark, until her family moved to Toms River, in 1960. Theresa attended elementary schools on Pershine and Garfield Avenue in Newark, as well as in Toms River. In Toms River, she attended elementary, intermediate, and Toms River High School, graduating with the Class of 1969. Upon completion of high school, she attended Ocean County Community College. After college, Theresa worked in the retail and the banking industries before traveling around the United States, Mexico and Europe, after which she married her husband James, and had her children, Sean and James Jr. She also cared for her niece Melissa, and her sister ReRe’s children when ReRe tragically passed. When Theresa’s boys started school, she was employed by the South Bound Brook Board of Education as a Paraprofessional in the younger grades, and with special needs children for over twenty years. Theresa was a past President of the South Bound Brook Robert Morris Parent Teacher Association. Theresa was also active with Cub Scout Pack No. 42 and Troop No. 42, Boy Scouts of America, while her children were in scouting, even going camping with her Cub Scouts. Theresa was active in her husband’s Naval Career, and was proud of being the wife of a Navy Chief Petty Officer. When Theresa wasn’t busy with work and her family, she managed to find time to tend her gardens, crochet, craft, and bake. Theresa was also a member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish. Theresa is survived by her husband James, their children James Jr., and Sean and his wife April, and grandson Sean Liam. Theresa is also survived by her mother Dorothy (Young) Bariexca, her brothers and their wives, Henry and Judy Bariexca, and Gus and Susan Bariexca; sister Bettijane and husband James Giglio; sisters in law Mary VanSteinburg, and her companion Mary Steinwehr, and Claire and Keith Hoffman; as well as many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews, and their children of the Bariexca, Young, and Fisher and Fey families. Theresa has joined her father Henry, sister Rose (ReRe) Burch, brother in law Gary Burch, Nephews Gerry Burch and Gussie Bariexca, great nephew Dakota Burch, and many Bariexca and Young family Aunts and Uncles.
