Sylvia Jacobus

Sylvia Jacobus, 93, died peacefully at Haven Hospice, Edison, Thursday, July 16, 2015. Born in Jersey City, she was the daughter of William and Emily (Haesloop) Seymour. Mrs. Jacobus was a Certified Nurses Aide, and worked as an aide at Lincoln Park Nursing Home and Country Healthcare Agency before retiring in 1986. Before becoming a CNA, she worked at Air Craft Radio, soldering airplane parts during WWII. She was a former member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Grace Community Church, Bridgewater. Mrs. Jacobus was predeceased by her husband, Franklin in 1976. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Joseph) Madden, and Nancy (Alan) Law; her grandchildren, Michelle Kirchofer, Meredith Madden-Esposito, and Joseph Madden, Melissa Machemehl, Steven Law, Heather Hoyt, and Jessica Dollgener; and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 9:00 AM, Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the funeral home, followed by the funeral service at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at Whitehall Methodist Church Cemetery, Towaco, NJ. Memorial donations may be made Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Ste. 200, Bethesda, MD 20814.
