Sylvia Jacobus, 93, died peacefully at Haven Hospice, Edison, Thursday, July 16, 2015. Born in Jersey City, she was the daughter of William and Emily (Haesloop) Seymour. Mrs. Jacobus was a Certified Nurses Aide, and worked as an aide at Lincoln Park Nursing Home and Country Healthcare Agency before retiring in 1986. Before becoming a CNA, she worked at Air Craft Radio, soldering airplane parts during WWII. She was a former member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Grace Community Church, Bridgewater. Mrs. Jacobus was predeceased by her husband, Franklin in 1976. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Joseph) Madden, and Nancy (Alan) Law; her grandchildren, Michelle Kirchofer, Meredith Madden-Esposito, and Joseph Madden, Melissa Machemehl, Steven Law, Heather Hoyt, and Jessica Dollgener; and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 9:00 AM, Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the funeral home, followed by the funeral service at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at Whitehall Methodist Church Cemetery, Towaco, NJ.
