Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Stefanina Sasso, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, joining her loving husband of 58 years Alfonso in heaven. She was born and raised in Marigliano, Italy, and has resided in Somerset County, NJ since 1970.

Stefanina was a most welcoming and vivacious host, always ready with an espresso or limoncello for all her guests. She was an excellent cook, who enjoyed bringing friends and family to the table to share a meal and enjoy good times and companionship. Stefanina was a master knitter and created beautiful pieces that she lovingly gifted to those around her, as well as an avid gardener in the home she shared with her husband, where there were always tomatoes and basil flourishing in her garden. She was funny and clever and had a very loyal and loving heart.

Stefanina was a most devoted mother and grandmother, who loved her family fiercely. Stefanina will be missed by her sons, Sebastian and Joe along with their wives. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Massimo and Chiara as well as two sisters in Italy and a sister in law in Flemington. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Alfonso in 2017.

Services will be held at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Bound Brook. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Stefanina's name to your favorite charity.
