Stanlee Kissel, age 90, of Bound Brook passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024.
Stanlee was born in Somerville to Martin Kissel and Ruth Kissel (nee Gottlieb). He was deeply rooted in the community and dedicated to his family and profession.
Stanlee's family had a strong history of entrepreneurship and community involvement. After moving to New Jersey from Brooklyn, his grandfather founded the Gottlieb Box Factory before transitioning to housing providing homes for coal miners working in the area at Calco, Bakelite, and John’s Manville affectionately known as Kissel Castles. Stanlee was proud to be one of four generations to attend Bound Brook High School, graduating in 1951 before earning his MA in Arts and Education from Rider University.
Professionally, Stanlee taught management for 28 years and owned Kissel Agency, a respected financial services company in town.
He was preceded in death by his wife Florence in 2021 and son Marc in 2007. He is survived by many dear friends.
All services are under the supervision of Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Washington Cemetery, 104 Deans Rhode Hall Rd, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852.
