Sidonie Marie LePochat, 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2018, surrounded by family. Sidonie was born on November 19, 1921, in Glomel, France, one of five children born to Yves and Francoise Roule. She grew up in Brittany and endured the occupation before marrying Francois LePochat and immigrating to the United States. The LePochats crossed the Atlantic with their two-year old daughter, whose sister would be born the following month, arriving in New York on January 3, 1948. They built their home in Bound Brook, and pursued the American Dream. Sidonie worked at RCA for almost thirty years, participating in their space exploration department. She assisted with the production of technology for interspace communication as well as the Saturn ring photos and particle discovery. After her retirement, she took great joy in spending time with her husband of fifty-sixyears, visiting grandchildren and traveling back to France to see family and friends. She has been a fixture in the lives of her family, who will deeply miss her love and generosity. Her legacy of hard work and family as the pillars of life will forever be remembered by those who knew her well. Sidonie was predeceased by her husband, Francois. She is beloved by her two daughters, Nicole Hartman, and husband Harry, and Aimee Swain, and husband Jim. Sidonie is adored by her five grandchildren, Michelle Hartman Glyman and husband Don, Vanessa Hartman Yessner and husband Scott, Justin Swain, and wife Nicole, Renee Hartman, Ashley Swain Murphy and husband James, Trevor Swain, and ten great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Glyman, Thomas Glyman, William Glyman, Chanel Yessner, Chelsea Yessner, Landen Swain, Jackson Swain, Declan Swain, Eli Murphy and Emma Murphy. She also leaves two sisters, Maria LeFur and Martha Roule, both residing in France. Gathering withe the family will be Friday, January 19, from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 20, 2018, at St Joseph Church, Bound Brook. Burial will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery.
