Sharon Thomas

Sharon Sue Thomas, 61, died Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Somerset, while surrounded by her devoted husband and children. Born July 20, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, she married her high school sweetheart in 1975, was the loving and caring mother of three children and beloved Oma to her two grandchildren. She worked as an elementary school teacher at Asher Holmes Elementary School in Marlboro, New Jersey for twenty years, retiring this past July. A friend to all, her smile could light up any room and her distinct laugh was heard wherever she went. Sharon was predeceased by her father, George O’Dell, father-in-law, J.R. Thomas, and sister, Kathryn Pierce. She is survived by her mother, Christine Schuler and mother-in-law, Myrt Thomas, both of Louisville, Kentucky; husband, Randy of Whitehouse Station; children, David (Donna) Thomas of Revere, Massachusetts, Laurel (Robert) Pikulin of Readington, and Leeanne (Jake) Dodson of Westampton; her adored grandchildren, Nora and James; and by loving siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends. Memorial Services will be held in New Jersey on Saturday, August 26th and in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, September, 30th. Specific details regarding the services will be disseminated shortly. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
