Samos Gordon

Samos Gordon, 85, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Regency Heritage Nursing and Postacute Rehabilitation Center, Somerset. Born in Hopeton, Jamaica, he was a long time area resident. He was a retired maintenance worker with the Service Employees International Union, Local 1199, New York, New York. He loved watching wrestling and boxing with his wife. Samos was predeceased by his wife of thirty-nine years, Vinnetta Burke Gordon on March 17, 2015. He is survived by his children Edward Gordon, Helena Gordon-Knights, Samos Gordon, Jr., Hubert Gordon, Leleith Gordon, Errol Gordon, Marlene Gordon, and Anthony Gordon; his stepchildren, Dorren, Lloyd, George, Beatrice, Cecelle, and Deloris; fifty-six grandchildren and step-grandchildren, fifty-six great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, and four great-great-step grandchildren. Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday, April 1, from 11:30 A.M. until the funeral services to be held at 1:30 P.M., with Bro. John Zulick of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, officiating. Interment will be at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
