Rosanne Stewart

July 16, 1950 — October 17, 2023

The world lost an incredibly loving wife, mother, and grandmother on October 17, 2023 when Rosanne Stewart passed away from pancreatic cancer at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital of Somerset surrounded by her family.

Rosanne was a devoted wife to her husband Timothy of 44 years, a loving mother to Jody and her husband Chris Long, Nicholas Pasquito, Tracey and her husband John Boritza and Kevin Stewart. Perhaps her proudest accomplishment was being Grandma Ro to her eight grandchildren: Rayne and Nolan (Long), Nathaniel and Alexander (Boritza), and Jillian, Kelsey, Paige, and Isabella (Pasquito). She is also survived by her brothers David, Jeff, Richard, and Jim (Jeskie).

Rosanne began fulfilling her life's purpose when she started her career in nursing at Somerset Medical Center as the head nurse of the pediatric department. She cared for countless children and their families, and touched the lives of many patients, nurses and doctors alike. She then went on to work at several nursing home facilities including Greenbrook Manor Nursing Home, Somerset Valley Nursing Home, Integrated Health Services at Somerset Valley, and the Somerset Valley Visiting Nurse Association, where she helped countless patients and managed nursing staff to provide the best treatment to all under her care. She always added her own personal touch to those she cared for, and encouraged her children to do the same, and together they spent many hours at those facilities spending time with the residents. Rosanne went on to help manage and coordinate the opening of Marriott’s Brighton Gardens, which was among the first assisted living care facilities in New Jersey. At the end of her career, Rosanne became a consultant for nursing services for assisted living, subacute, and long term care facilities and helped to implement pharmacy services therein while employed at Scotchwood Institutional Services. She became a partner and director of customer service at Partners Pharmacy, and later Pharmerica, where she helped to ensure long term care and assisted living facilities were provided with the proper pharmaceuticals and training to ensure all patients received the best care possible.

When she was not working, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to throw parties and barbeques to celebrate every occasion with her loved ones, especially Christmas. Rosanne also took every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and would often travel to see and support them at their concerts and sporting events, share vacations and adventures, and shower them with her love. The world will not be the same without her, but she will live on through the love and lessons she instilled in her children and grandchildren, and in the lives of the countless patients she had the honor of treating during her lifetime.

Gathering with the family will be 10:00 to 11:30 AM, Friday, October 20th, AR Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home,  Bound Brook. Graveside service will  follow at noon, at Bound Brook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in her honor be sent to the Lustgarten Foundation which works to support and fund the world’s preeminent pancreatic cancer researchers.
