Ronald Lewis Vaughn, predeceased by loving wife Joan Virginia Vaughn was a cherished father, companion, and friend. Ron passed away on April 22, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Paul Lewis Vaughn and Martha Jane Wilson. Ron attended Bound Brook High School and later graduated from Somerville High School when his family moved to Branchburg. Ron went on to attend college and technical school, earning an associate's degree and subsequently building a career in sales, primarily focusing on real estate.
An avid bowler, Ron was a proud member of a senior bowling league at Bowlero, where he spent countless hours enjoying the sport he loved. Beyond the bowling lanes he enjoyed many sports. He found joy in organic gardening, cultivating his own produce, and sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. Fishing trips, especially those to Canada, brought him immense happiness, providing opportunities to connect with nature and reflect. Driven by the spirit of adventure, he was fond of exploring the unknown and was always willing to try something new.
Ron was known for his kindness, generosity, and selflessness. His life was marked by a dedication to service and support for others. He devoted time to community service through his involvement with the Lion's Club, helping organize fundraisers such as eyeglass donations to support those in need. He deeply valued his family life, always showing unwavering support for his daughter, Carla, as well as his companion Connie and her grandchildren. He cherished attending Lily's dance recitals and Ty's baseball games, taking pride in their accomplishments.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Carla Vaughn-Mead; his loving companion, Connie Nicolay; as well as many other extended relatives and dear friends. Ron's legacy of compassion and commitment to serving others will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook.
