Robert Tunison

Robert William Tunison, 91, died Thursday, April 9, 2015, at home. Born June 2, 1923, in Somerville, he was the son of Harmon and Harriet Leedom Tunison. He was a lifelong Warren resident. A United State Army veteran of World War II, he saw action in Belgium, France, and Germany. Bob retired as a drywall taper finisher from Branchburg Drywall, Branchburg. His fondest memories were from working for the Chimney Rock Inn, Bridgewater, and working with the employees there, following his retirement. He was a member of the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church, Warren. He was a member and former Treasurer of the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Cemetery Association, and was the cemetery’s Superintendent and Caretaker for many years. He served as a Committee member of Troop 228, Boy Scouts of America, Warren. He was an Exempt Fireman with the Mt. Bethel Fire Company, and a volunteer with the Mt. Horeb Fire Department. Bob was predeceased by his sister, Henrietta Bross, and brother, Harmon Tunison. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Doris J. [Marlar] Tunison; his sons, Gary R. Tunison and wife Patricia, Kevin W. Tunison, daughter-in-law Kathy; his grandchildren, Trisha and husband Dean Benner, Scott, David, Kyle, Kody; his beloved great-grandchildren, Dominick, Blake, Victoria, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 14, at the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. Friends will be received 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. Monday, at the Funeral Home. Cremation will be private.
