Robert Moritz

Robert William Moritz, 87, died Friday, December 18, 2015, at his home in Somerset. Born in Elizabeth, he was the son of William and Florence [Duderstadt] Moritz. Mr. Moritz was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of the reserves until 1957. He had been a self employed accountant for forty-five years, before retiring in 1997. He was a resident of Warren for thirty-eight years, before moving to Somerset in 2003. Mr. Moritz was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bound Brook, and the Canal Walk VA Group. Mr. Moritz was predeceased by his wife, Rita, in 2002, and his daughter, Karen, in 1970. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Ciffer) Moritz, of Somerset; his sons, Robert (Deanne) Moritz of Florida, Paul (Margaret) Moritz of Middlesex, Bruce (Catherine) Moritz of West Windsor; his step children, Deborah Casisa of Somerset, and Andrew Ciffer of Budd Lake; his grandchildren, Megan, Jordan, Ashley, and Christopher Moritz; Kristina, Anthony, and Nicholas Casisa; and Matthew, Joshua, and Jonathan Ciffer. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at the funeral home. Visitation will be Monday, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M.
