Robert C. Harabin, 73, died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born June 8, 1941, in South Bound Brook, he was the son of John and Julia Resnick Harabin. He was a lifelong borough resident. He graduated Bound Brook High School, Class of 1959, then served as a Military Police Sergeant in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Robert served as a Policeman for South Bound Brook for twenty-five years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the South Bound Brook Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, Local 148, and Giles - Biondi Post No. 63, American Legion, Bound Brook. Robert is survived by his domestic partner, Colette F. Restaino; his daughter, Michelle (Michael) Restaino Knight of Bridgewater; his stepsons, Vincent (Theresa Bruno) Restaino of Somerset, Ralph Restaino of Brooklyn, New York; his brother, Edward (Frances) Harabin of Annandale, and his beloved grandchildren, Michael Knight, Jr., and Adam McCabe. Visiting will be 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 21, at Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook, with a Memorial Service at 3:00 P.M. Cremation was private.
