Robert Baumgarten

Robert Baumgarten, 71, died peacefully at his father’s home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. Born in New Brunswick, Robert moved to Somerset in 1956. He grew up in the house built by his father Nicholas, and was a graduate of Franklin Township High School and had attended Fairleigh Dickenson University. His passion was the piano, whether he was playing in bars or at weddings, Robert always found peace at the keys. He shared his talent with others by working as a piano instructor.

Robert was predeceased by his mother, Nonna Julie Baumgarten in 2017. He is survived by his devoted father, Nicholas; and his cousins Bruce and David Baumgarten.

Cremation was private. A memorial mass for Robert will begin at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 13, 2023, at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook. Burial will follow at St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery in South Bound Brook.

Arrangements are in the care of Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home in Bound Brook.
