Richard J. Jannuzzi, Sr.

Richard J. Jannuzzi Sr.,71, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023, at his home in Bound Brook.

Born and raised in Bound Brook, Rich was the son of Francis and Jean (Santoro) Jannuzzi and brother of Frank, Ernest, and Michael. He was a proud alumnus of Bound Brook High School and Trenton State College, where he earned his bachelor's degree. Richard worked as a purchasing agent for over two decades at Revlon Implements in Irvington before beginning his career with the Bound Brook School District, working as a substitute teacher and, eventually, as an aide. Beyond his professional achievements, Rich was a pillar of the Bound Brook community. During the 1980s and 1990s, he was the director and coach of the Bound Brook Recreation Girl’s Softball Program, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless young athletes. His commitment extended to civic engagement, where he served as the president of the Friends of the Bound Brook Library and as a Bound Brook Councilman from 2020 to 2022. Rich was an avid fisherman, finding solace and joy on the water. His dedication to his community, and love for his family made him a cherished figure in Bound Brook.

Rich is survived by his loving wife, Marguerite, and their children Kathryn, Elizabeth, Richard Jr., and his wife Danielle, and John and his wife Carolina. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren Tela, Dax, Samantha, Megan, Joseph, Dominic, and Emma; and many nieces and nephews.

Gathering with the family with be 2:00 to 4:00 with a prayer service to be held from 3:00 to 3:15 PM at the funeral home; and 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Bound Brook. Cremation will be private.

May he rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and community spirit that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
