Paul D Chamberlain

Paul D. Chamberlain, 66, of Bound Brook, passed away while surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

Paul was born and raised in Bound Brook, NJ, where he and his seven siblings had many adventures growing up. He followed in his father’s footsteps of becoming a Funeral Director, and, along with his brother, Mark, owned Taggart-Chamberlain Funeral Home, which years later became Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home. Paul was born with a gift for music and could play almost any instrument at will, without ever learning how to play. He had an uncanny ability to make up songs and could entertain for hours, singing, while playing his guitar or piano. His wife accredits his piano playing and song writing ability to winning her over as a teenager. He most recently wrote, played, and sang the wedding song for his daughter Cathryn’s wedding in March, 2023. Paul had an incredible sense of humor and thrived on making those around him laugh, no matter the situation. He was an avid traveler, and made countless, cherished memories on summer vacations and trips with his family and friends. He enjoyed many things in life, but there was one joy in life that he treasured above all else: his loving wife, Sarah.

Paul was the devoted husband of Sarah Chamberlain. Beloved father of Julie Chamberlain, Adam Chamberlain and his wife, Nicole; Cathryn Awad and her husband, Mario; and Elaine Legagneur and her husband Jarrell. He was the proud grandfather of Raina, Brielle, Winter, Brayden, and River – all of whom brought him great joy. Loving brother of Carol Chamberlain and her husband, Ted Ozsvath; Mark Chamberlain and his wife, June (Late); Gary Chamberlain and his wife, Sandra; Jim Chamberlain and his wife, Claire; Jon Chamberlain and his partner, Patricia Reynolds; Laura Chamberlain Keita; and William Chamberlain and his wife, Janice. Also surviving are many dear in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends. Paul was predeceased by his caring parents, Roland and Verdajean Chamberlain.

Visiting is Friday, April 21, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hagan–Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ 08805. Funeral Services are Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pillar of Fire Cemetery, Upper Pond Road, Zarephath, NJ, 08890.
