Patricia Jane Roskowski (Sokoloski) passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, after a brief hospitalization.
Patty Jane was the eldest of three born on July 14, 1951, to Walter and Verna Sokoloski. She grew up in Franklin Township with her sister Rita and brother Michael, graduating from Franklin High School in 1969.
Pat leaves behind a loving family, and many lifelong friends. Pat had a roster full of children and their spouses between her two marriages: Pete & Suzanne, Jessica & Ray, Mat, Stefan & Jessica, Melissa & Alex and Victor & Melissa. She was blessed with nine grandchildren: Sabryna, RJ, Jason, Vanessa, Jackson, Ryan, James, Victor and Filomena as well as her loving nieces and nephews. Even after divorce she remained good friends with Gene (Romanyszyn), who predeceased her in 2020 and Vic (Roskowski) who lived right down the street and shared time watching movies, sharing meals, and visiting their grandchildren.
Well, what can we say about Pat? I guess we can start by saying that she was stronger and tougher than Rosie the Riveter herself. She could wield a wooden spoon with the best of them, but her inner hippie would much rather give a hug. No matter what life threw at her she kicked it in the a$$. Family meant the world to her, and she always did her best to provide for her kids and grandkids. Pat was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with her four-legged grandchildren, sometimes more than the two-legged ones…. In the recent years she became an expert eye roller, that coupled with a loss of her inner dialogue made for some humorous times. Pat was ALWAYS ready to dance and all you had to do was put on some disco and watch her go, no doubt she danced her way through the pearly gates.
Arrangements are being handled by Hagan Chamberlain Funeral Home. Cremation is private with a Party for Patty to be scheduled at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her name to Save Animal Rescue.
