BOUND BROOK – Patricia Ann Brokaw Apgar, 95, died in Huntsville, AL February 18, 2024
after a brief illness. Pat was the daughter of Robert and Hilda Brokaw and spent most of her life
in Bound Brook.
After graduating from Douglass College (now Rutgers), Pat married Sterling E. Apgar, Jr., and

weather there for 24 years. Following the death of her spouse, William Springer (also from
Bound Brook), she moved to Huntsville, AL in 2018 to be with her son and daughter-in-law.
Pat was raised and married in the Bound Brook Congregational Church, She was active in the
Bound Brook community, volunteering as a Girl Scout leader and an election worker.
In Florida, she was a hospice volunteer and a member of the Red Hat Society. An excellent seamstress,
she sewed many of her daughters’ clothes, and later took up quilting and counted cross-stitch.

there were more people like Pat in the world, it would be a much better place.”
