Nonna Baumgarten

Nonna J. Baumgarten, 88, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at her home in Somerset. Born in Ukraine, she moved to Germany with her mother, Valentina Masurowa, during World War II. She emigrated to the United States in 1949. She met her husband, Nicholas, and they were married in 1951. In 1956, they moved to Somerset. Nonna enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church in Bound Brook. Nonna is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Nicholas Baumgarten; her son, Robert Baumgarten of Edison; her brother in law, Adolph Baumgarten; and her nephews, David and Bruce Baumgarten. Funeral services will be 9:30 A.M. Monday, March 13, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. Burial will be at St. Andrew Cemetery in South Bound Brook. Friends will be received 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
