Nicholas Baumgarten, 99, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – New Brunswick. Born in Romania to Michael and Maria (Kaminski) Baumgarten, Nicholas lived a long and fulfilling life. He learned the jewelry trade while living in Germany and carried that expertise with him to the United States. After settling in New Jersey, he opened Baumgarten Jewelers, where he built a reputation for quality craftsmanship and honest work. Nicholas enjoyed life outside of work as well. He loved vacations in St. Maarten and Wildwood Crest, weekly poker nights with his siblings, and relaxing with a glass of Chivas Regal. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend—generous beyond measure.
