Nancy Rose

Nancy Rose, of Bound Brook, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023, at the age of 85. Born in New Brunswick, Nancy was a lifelong resident of Bound Brook and raised her own family in the very home that held her childhood memories.

After graduating from Bound Brook High School, Nancy embarked on a professional journey that exemplified dedication and commitment to her hometown. For over 25 years, she served as the Board of Education secretary for the district, contributing significantly to the educational growth of the area. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Nancy's impact extended into the social fabric of her neighborhood. She was known for her warmth and hospitality, as evidenced by her active involvement in the neighborhood ladies club, book club, and sewing circle. Her welcoming nature brought people together and fostered lasting friendships. Nancy's spiritual life was equally important to her. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Church in Bound Brook, where she participated in Bible study, was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, counting weekly offerings, cleaning the church and assisting at the parish office faithfully for many years.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Sr., in 1992. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Robert E. Rose Jr. (Joyce), Kenneth Michael Rose, Kathy Mastice (John), Larry A. Rose (Joyce), and Marian Schlauch (Eric). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Shannon Leigh Kelly, Melissa Rose, Jennifer Aguila, Adam Michael Schlauch, Anna Claire Schlauch, John Mastice, Matthew Mastice, and Amanda Johnson. Nancy's great-grandchildren, Owen, Carter, Jackson Kelly, and Jacob Aguila, were a source of immense joy to her.

Gathering with the family will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, August 21, 2023, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Tuesday at St. Joseph Church. Burial at Bound Brook Cemetery will follow.
