Mirtia Perez, 69, died Friday, November 20, 2015, at her home. Born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, she moved to Bound Brook in 1975, and South Bound Brook in 2002. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Willow Creek Rehabilitation & Care Center, Somerset, for twenty years, then for Target, for four years, until disabled by illness. She loved her family and vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Mirtia is survived by her loving husband, Rudolph “Rudy” Perez, as they just celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary; her daughter, Yvonne M. Tucker, son Keith Perez and partner Stephanie Hurley, both of South Bound Brook; her grandchildren, Melissa Tucker and partner Andre Dunn, Skyler Tucker, Matéo Perez, Elizabeth Perez; her beloved great-grandchildren, Destiney, Angelique, Sakari, and Andre “A.J.” Dunn; her brother, Minister Louis “Chicky” Perez of Florida, and her extended family and dearly loved friends and neighbors. Visiting hours will be 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 24, at the funeral home, followed by an 8:00 P.M. funeral service at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
