Mary Scott

Mary Lopresti Scott, 90, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville. Born April 8, 1924, in Bound Brook, she was the daughter of Rosario and Josephine [Colacci] Lopresti. She was a lifelong borough resident, residing in the home her father built when she was 18 months old. Her mother died when Mary was 17, and Mary took care of her father and helped raise her five brothers. Mary graduated from Bound Brook High School and attended Drake Business School, New Brunswick. She worked as an administrative assistant at House Master, a home inspection company in Bound Brook, before retiring in 1996. She volunteered for many years at Somerset Medical Center. Mary was a communicant of St. Joseph R. C. Church, Bound Brook. Mary was predeceased by four of her brothers. She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, John A. Scott; her children, Mary Lou and her husband, Chuck Dahler of East Amwell, John and his wife, Marci Scott of Pattenburg; her beloved grandchildren, Stephen and his wife, Jennelle Dahler, Kelly Dahler, Kelsey, Jonathan, and Lauren Scott; her brother, John and his wife, Theresa Lopresti of Middlesex; sister-in-law, Doris Lopresti of Flemington, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin 9:30 A.M. Monday, July 14, at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church in Bound Brook. Interment will be at Bound Brook Cemetery.
