Mark D. Maloney, 63, died Monday, July 4, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA. Born February 25, 1953, in Somerville, he was the son of Thomas W. and Mary Rooney Maloney. He resided in Bound Brook until graduating high school in 1971. Mark worked for the US General Services Administration (GSA) in Burlington, moving to Pennsylvania when offered a transfer. He retired from GSA in 2003, and moved to Georgia in 2006, when opportunity knocked for his wife’s work. Georgia was a wonderful place to live with new friends, but longing for family called them back to the Northeast in 2015, where they settled in Fountain Hill, PA. Mark was an avid music lover and enjoyed playing softball and basketball. He was an animal lover and adopted many stray cats. Mark was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Thomas M. “Chips” Maloney. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie [Wendt] Maloney; his sisters, Kelly A. Maloney of Yardley, PA, Christine M. Maloney of Bethlehem, PA, and Frances M. Doremus of Piscataway, and her husband, Marc, of Piscataway, and many beloved nieces and nephews in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Alaska, and Colorado. A memorial will be held for Mark from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 9, at the funeral home. Friends are invited to share in his remembrance and to dress casually. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions in Mark’s memory may be made to any “no-kill” animal shelter, or a charity of choice.
