Marilyn Harabin

Marilyn E. Harabin, 88, died peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2015, at her home in Bound Brook. Born in Newark, she was the daughter of Albert and Edna (Brown) Toth. She was a graduate of Union High School, Class of 1945. After high school, she began working for Prudential Insurance Company. In 1949, she married her beloved husband, Pete, and they settled in Bound Brook to raise their family. Mrs. Harabin began working as a cook in 1962 at Bound Brook High School. She transferred to Smalley School after a few years, where she continued to work until her retirement in 1992. She loved going on bus trips to casinos and belonged to many local senior groups. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Bound Brook. Mrs. Harabin was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Peter in 2000, and her son, Kenneth in 1975. She is survived by her son, Keith, and his wife, Barbara of Middlesex; her grandchildren, Keith, and his wife, Lauren of North Carolina, and Katie of Middlesex; her great-grandson, Parker; her sister, Jackie Cavallo of Toms River and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Monday, July 13, 2015, at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin 10:00 AM, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bound Brook Cemetery.
