Marie-Elena Scannell

Marie-Elena Scannell, 82, of South Bound Brook passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024, with her family by her side.

Born in Summit, NJ, Marie-Elena worked tirelessly for the Food Bank Network of Somerset County as Executive Director for over 38 years. Her dedication and commitment to her community will forever be admired and appreciated.

Marie-Elena is predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Helen (nee Whalen) Pariso and also by her sons, Richard (Suzanne) and John Scannell. She is survived by her beloved husband Edwin “Ned” Scannell and her daughter, Annette and her son, Steven (Stephanie), nephew Thomas Pariso, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Friends and family may visit the Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 3 to 6 p.m., a prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 6 p.m.
