Marie Nilsen

Marie Theresa Jannone Nilsen, 87, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Hospital, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. Born in Bound Brook, she was a lifelong resident before moving to Wilkes Barre several years ago. She worked for Shoprite Liquors in Bound Brook for twenty years, retiring in 1999. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa R. C. Church in Bound Brook and sang in the choir. Marie was predeceased by her husband George Nilsen, Sr.; her sons Lawrence Nilsen, George Nilsen, and her siblings Peter Jannone, Julia Rutono, and Lucy Kasas. She is survived by her son Anthony (Lisa) Nilsen, Sr., of Long Pond, Pennsylvania, her grandchildren Bethany, Ean, Anthony, Jr., George III, Theresa Marie, Casandra, Missy; her siblings Michael (Anne) Jannone, Jr. of Florida, Edith (Henry) Kuziola of Bound Brook; nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 9:00 A.M., Friday, May 20, at the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visiting will be 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, % Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home.
