Margaret Jane "Peggy" Carroll (nee Knox) died peacefully Aug. 5, 2019 following a brief illness. She was 87. Peggy was born in Medford Mass., the daughter of Margaret and Webster Knox, and was one of seven children. A graduate of Lowell Teachers College. Peggy taught first grade before marrying her husband of 63 years, John ("Jack"), who she first met in grade school. After starting her family in Buffalo, N.Y., she resided in Franklin Township, N.J., and then Bridgewater, N.J., where she lived for the last 48 years. She leaves behind daughter Leslie Smith (Brad), grandchildren, Nicole and Lauren, and great-grandson Cameron; son Mark (Dayna), grandchildren, Abigail and John; daughter Lori Belliveau (Paul), and grandchildren, Megan, Michael and Matthew; and daughter Lynne Burke (Michael), and grandchildren, Kate, Jane, Kimberly, and Jillian. Peggy was an accomplished painter, an avid reader, and a world-class Parcheesi player. She will be fondly remembered for her devotion to family and friends, unshakable optimism, and love of life. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 8, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 214 Church St., Bound Brook, N.J.
