Margaret Bonjione

Margaret Bonjione, 88, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at home with her family by her side. Born in Newfoundland, Canada, Margaret emigrated to the United States in 1945, settling in Montclair with relatives. In 1949, she married her high school sweetheart, Frank Bonjione, and together they raised their family in Montclair, where Margaret worked at Grove Pharmacy. After they moved to Bound Brook in 1991, Margaret was an aide at Van Holton School in Bridgewater, where she was affectionately known as Grandma Marge by the kids. She enjoyed going to Atlantic City to play the slots and traveling to Florida to visit her son. Margaret was predeceased by Frank, her husband of fifty-four years, in 2004. She is survived by her children, Donna MacNeer, and her husband Bob, of Bridgewater, Frank Bonjione, and his fiancé Helen, of New Smyrna, Deborah Kent, and her husband Robert, of Hopatcong, Robert Bonjione, and his wife Kathy, of Bridgewater, and five grandchildren, Kimberly, Jessica, Ryan, Robby, and Steven. Gathering with the family will be Friday, March 30, 2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Gathering on Saturday will begin at 9:15 A.M. at the funeral home, with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Bridgewater.
