Margaret Elaine Armstrong passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021. She was born in Shenandoah Heights, Pennsylvania, to Anthony and Anna (Pusavage) Prosper on January 23, 1933. Margaret graduated from Chester High School, in Chester County, PA, in 1950. She moved with her family to Bound Brook, NJ, and worked for American Cyanamid, Sherwin-Williams, and other local companies. Margaret retired from Rapistan Dematic in Warren after 20 years of service in its administrative office. She married the late Joseph L. Armstrong in 1954, and raised six children: daughters Paula Perdoni of Williamsburg, VA; Dianne DeLorenzo (William) of Basking Ridge, NJ; Joanne MacFie (Steven) of Zebulon, NC; and Lisa Armstrong of Edison; and sons Philip (Antonetta) of Piscataway; and Joseph (Joyce Grainger) of Piscataway. Margaret dearly loved her fourteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Matthew (Meredith) Perdoni and children Matthew and Charlotte; Katey Perdoni and son Amilio Hawkins; Christopher (Jacqueline) Perdoni and daughter Eliza; Laura MacFie, the late Andrew MacFie, and Daniel MacFie; Erica Armstrong; Marisa and Dominick Shinal; and Aiden Armstrong. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Anna (Pusavage) Prosper, brothers Anthony, Albert, and Ronald, and sister Jeannette Vecchio. She is survived by her sister Christina Haigh of Bound Brook. A resident of Piscataway since 1958, Margaret was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Church and was blessed with the pastoral care of the Reverend Jim Considine. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society of the church and later of Our Lady of Fatima Church, also in Piscataway. She was a long-time volunteer with the FISH Hospitality Program in Dunellen. Margaret would welcome gifts in her memory to St. Francis Cabrini Church and FISH. Gathering with the family will be 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM, Monday, November 29, 2021, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home in Bound Brook. Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Tuesday at St. Frances Cabrini Church, Piscataway. Burial at t Sacred Heart cemetery in Hillsborough Township, will follow.
