Maralyn Mccloud

Maralyn McCloud, 74, passed away on July 22, 2024.

Born in Brooklyn, and raised in Bayport, NY,  she was the daughter of the late James and Evelyn Rebman (nee Khoury).

Maralyn graduated from Bayport-Blue Point High School and earned an associate's degree in English from Suffolk County Community College. She notably went on to work for Forbes Magazine for 7 years, then pursued freelance writing for 7 years. She also wrote for the Princeton Packet and The Chronicle, where her articles were appreciated by local readers.

Aside from her career, Maralyn enjoyed writing and communicating with old friends, sharing her passion for journalism, and loved all animals, particularly her cats.

Maralyn is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, James McCloud, dear cousins, and friends.

Gathering with the family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 25th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Maralyn's honor.
