Madolin Sara

Madolin L. Sara, 92, died Friday, February 24, 2017, at home. Born October 21, 1924, in Waterbury, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Harold P. and Madolin Cooper Hotchkiss. She had resided in Bound Brook for seventy-two years. Madolin was a registered nurse, having graduated from the nursing school associated with the former Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. She worked for the medical center for forty-three years, retiring in 1991. Madolin enjoyed reading, tatting, and wintering in Arizona. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Madolin was predeceased by her loving husband of 35 years, Edward Sara, who died in 1983, and her sister, June Hatch, who died in 2006. She is survived by her daughters, Kim (Patrick) Sheran of Bound Brook, Wendy Sara of Phoenix, Arizona; her sisters, Barbara Weeks of Mesa, Arizona, Arleen Dunham of Shelburne, Vermont; her grandchildren, Edward J. and Mark A. Sheran; her beloved great-grandchildren, Aidan and Alejandro, and many nieces and nephews. Visiting will be 2:00 - 4:00 Tuesday, February 28, at the funeral home, with the funeral service at 3:00 P.M., during the course of visiting. Cremation will be private.
