Luis Gutarra, 78, died Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono, East Stroudsburg, PA. Born in Lima Peru, Luis was the son of Esteban and Leonor (Valdiviezo) Gutarra. Luis emigrated to the United States, in 1971 and became a citizen 35 years ago. He lived in South Bound Brook, before retiring to Bushkill, PA in 2006. Luis received his degree in accounting while living in Peru. Luis worked as an upholsterer at Takara Belmont and Seamans Furniture for many years. He was a skilled upholsterer. Luis is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Elizabeth (Fleming) Gutarra; his four children Fred; Cheryl and her husband, James; Doreen (predeceased husband Frederick Rutzler), and Kenneth and his wife, Denise; his seven grandchildren Stacy (Matt), Ashley, James Jr., Frederick Jr., Sarah and Nicole (Dominick) and Kenny Jr. He’s also survived by his loving brother, Raul Gutarra and many nieces and nephews here and in Peru. Graveside services will be 12:30 PM Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, NJ 07083. We kindly ask that face masks be worn at the graveside service and to be mindful of physical distancing guidelines.
