Devoted mother and cherished aunt Ludwena “Lou” Leonard (nee Dobrucki), 84, of South Bound Brook, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born in 1933 she was the daughter of her wonderful parents Michael and Mary Hrynchak Dobrucki. Ludwena, known as “Lou,” was born in Linden. After graduating from Linden High School in 1951, she was employed by Burroughs, Lockheed, Unisys, and Lockheed Martin, working in the computing, missiles, aerospace, and electronics systems groups. Lou lived in Warren Township for fourteen years, Bound Brook for ten years, and South Bound Brook thirty-seven years. Her greatest love was her family. When not outside tending her flowers, Lou enjoyed reading, antiquing, playing Scrabble, and working crossword/Sudoku puzzles. She also enjoyed playing the lottery and watching baseball. Always generous, she had a remarkable memory and loved to reminisce about growing up. Lou was predeceased by two brothers, Alexander and Adolph; three sisters, Frieda Jacob, Violet Dobrucki, and Julia Egnaczewski. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Gene; a daughter, Linda Clark, and her husband Mark T. Clark; her adored nieces, and other loving relatives and friends. Cremation was private. A service celebrating Lou’s life will be announced in the future. Memorial donations may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation, 415 Crossways Park Drive, Suite D, Woodbury, New York, 11797, or your local animal shelter.
