Louise B. House, 95, of Bridgewater, New Jersey, died on October 4, 2015, at the Green Knoll Center. Family and friends are invited to a service to celebrate her life on Saturday, October 17, at 11:00 A.M., at the South Bound Brook Reformed Church. If you plan to attend, we ask you to consider wearing something pink , Louise’s favorite color. Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. House lived in South Bound Brook for thirty-five years. After retiring, she and her husband Berton were snowbirds, living in Dover, Florida, and at Panther Lake, Andover, New Jersey. They moved to CenterBridge in Bridgewater in 2002. In 1965, Mrs. House took a “temporary” position in the business office at Raritan Valley Hospital in Green Brook, where she worked for fifteen years. For over fifty years she was very active in the Reformed Church of South Bound Brook, working on church dinners and bazaars and serving as church treasurer. She and Berton, who predeceased her in 2007, were married for sixty-six years. Mrs. House is survived by sons Kenneth and his wife Joyce of Cranford, and James of Brooklyn; daughter Linda and her husband Robert of Somerville; and her sister Julia Vander Decker of Colonia. Mrs. House is also survived by six grandchildren: Andrew and Katherine House of Frenchtown, Jennifer Meade of Califon, Megan Zak of Pitman, Melissa Zak of Seattle, Washington, and Michelle Zak of Cranford; her great-grandson, Logan Meade, and devoted nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Special Olympics New Jersey , 3 Princess Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648, in honor of Kate House, a star Special Olympian.
