Lorraine Porawski

Lorraine A. Porawski, 90, died Friday, June 30, 2017, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Somerville. Born in Harrison, she was the daughter of Ignac and Anna Zmijewski. Lorraine graduated from Kearny High School and worked as an operator at Federal Communications in Rockaway for many years. She was a devout Catholic and a Communicant at various local churches. She was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of Our Lady’s Rosary Makers, and the Legion of Mary. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Robert, her daughters, Linda Derby, and Lorraine E. Porawski, and her sisters, Anna Wood and Josephine Hettich. She is survived by her sons, Robert and his wife, Lisa, of Bound Brook, and Edward, and his wife, Rhonda of Massachusetts, her sister, Felicia Robinson of Florida ten grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. A memorial mass will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 8, 2017, at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Bound Brook. Gathering with the family will be 9:00 to 10:45 A.M. at the funeral home. Cremation was private.
