Loretta Buono Sette, 86, died Monday, April 11, 2016, at her home in Bound Brook. She was the daughter of Nicholas and Catherine (Romano) Buono. A life-long resident of Bound Brook, Loretta was a graduate of Bound Brook High School, class of 1948. She attended the Somerset Hospital School of Nursing and Trenton State College, where she earned her undergraduate and masters degrees. Loretta began her nursing career working with Dr. R. Hardy in New Brunswick and in the infirmary at Rutgers University. She worked as the school nurse for the Hillsborough Elementary School for over 30 years before retiring. Loretta enjoyed traveling with her husband James, spending their summers in Lavallette and their winters in Palm Beach. They especially enjoyed their vacations in Italy. Loretta’s additional interests included skiing, painting, reading, solving Sudoku puzzles, and creating crewel, embroidery, and knitting projects for herself and as gifts for others. Loretta was predeceased by her husband James in 2007. She is survived by her brother, Nicholas J. Buono, Jr., her cousins, Annmarie Harrison, Cathleen Ludlow, and her husband Adam, and their children, Catie and Caden, and Joan (Romano) Clark and her husband Gordon. She is also survived by many other beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be 3:00 - 6:00 PM, Friday, April 15, 2016, at the funeral home. Funeral Services will begin 10:00 AM, Saturday, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church in Bound Brook. Burial will be at Bound Brook Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Denville, NJ 07834.
