Leroy Copper, Jr. 39, died peacefully at his home in Bound Brook. Born in Washington DC, he was the youngest son of Callette and Leroy Copper Sr. Leroy moved to Bound Brook in 1987. He attended Bound Brook middle and high school, graduating in 1999. He received his bachelor's degree in communication from William Patterson University in 2004. He worked at Lincoln Tech in South Plainfield as a recruiter. Leroy loved the outdoors - fishing, camping, canoeing - and he especially loved sharing his love of the outdoors with his nephew, Myles. He was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Eagles and the Yankees - after the Bound Brook Crusaders, of course. He had a big heart and infectious smile. He would do anything for family and friends. Spending time with them meant the world to him. Leroy was a great cook and a foodie and he enjoyed a good meal. He was a member of the Bound Brook Elks Lodge # 1388 and the Bound Brook Congregational Church. Leroy was predeceased by his father in 2013. He is survived by his mom, Callette; his sister, Pamela; his brother Edward; his nephews Myles and Edward Jr.; his nieces Rebecca and Ruth; and five aunts and two uncles; as well as countless cousins and friends. Gathering with the family will be from 12pm - 2pm on Sunday, October 11, 2020, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook. Funeral services will be private. We kindly ask that face masks be worn while visiting, to be mindful of physical distancing guidelines, and for visitors to minimize time spent indoors to allow everyone a chance to pay their respects.
