Leonard “Lenny” Villaggio, 76, died peacefully Saturday, September 9, 2017, at his home in Piscataway, surrounded by his family. Born in Newark, he was the son of Leonard P. Villaggio and Mary D’Ambola. Raised in Belleville, he was a graduate of Bellville High School. In 1982, Lenny moved to Piscataway. He had worked as a maintenance mechanic for J. Wiss & Son, in Newark for twenty-three years, and Greenbrook Academy in Bound Brook for twenty years, before retiring in 2002. He and his wife, Kathy, were also the owners of the former Homestead Bar & Grill in Bound Brook. Lenny enjoyed listening to oldies music, especially Doo Wop, going to the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and working in the yard and around the house. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Lenny is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Kathy, his four children, Vicki Ann (John) Villaggio - Sivik, Gina Marie Villaggio (Chris Siri), Angela (Mark) Becker, and David (Kaylin) Brandes; his nine beloved grandchildren, Danny, Christopher, Tommy, Logan, Colton, Brody, Griffin, Cami, and Oswin; his sister, Susan (George) Mobilio; his brother in law, Michael, his sister-in-law, Linda, and his nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home, Monday, September 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., with the funeral service beginning at 8:00 P.M. Cremation will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 9 Lamington Road., Branchburg, New Jersey 08876.
