Lawrence John Sanislo went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Easton, PA. He was born in Perth Amboy, NJ to Alexander and Elizabeth (Seckretar) Sanislo. In 1969, he received an award from the SPCA for Heroism for jumping into a frozen canal to save a dog. After that he was an honorary member. He was a US Army Veteran, serving from 1953-1955. Lawrence worked for PSE&G and later was self-employed, delivering the Home News. He was an avid trout fisherman and Rutgers football fan. In his early days, he enjoyed camping, crabbing and playing the accordion. He loved singing and going to Church. He would sometimes sing solos at Church and special family occasions.
Lawrence was predeceased by his loving wife Joan, of seventy years in October of 2022, his brother Alexander Sanislo Jr., and sister Barbara Mower. He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl L Brown (Kevin) of Brick, Joni Lynn Head (Charlie) of Springfield, Georgia, and son Robert Sanislo (Ingrid) of Bloomsbury; his grandchildren, Emily, Taryn, Colleen, Lindsay, John-Patrick, Christiana, Kaleigh, Julianna, Alyssa, Brittany, Faith, Kevin Jr., as well as 23 great-grandchildren.
The memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 5th, 2023, at Georges Road Baptist Church, 440 Church Lane in North Brunswick. Cremation was private. Arrangements are in the care of Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, Bound Brook.
