Lawrence James Schraeder, aged 74, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024 at the Center of Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ.
He was born on January 15, 1950, in Nanticoke, PA to Albert and Ruth Schraeder. He was a proud resident of South Bound Brook and was a 1967 graduate of Bound Brook High School. He worked as a member of the Bound Brook Borough Public Works System for over 30 years having a strong work ethic and never wanting to miss a single day.
Larry had a special love for his entire family, especially his nieces and nephews, who he always enjoyed spending time with and hearing about their lives. Larry was very outgoing and loved talking to people wherever he went and definitely had a unique way of endearing himself to those around him. His favorite pastimes included sitting on the front porch listening to oldies, watching John Wayne westerns and Smokey & The Bandit, Find-A-Word puzzles with his special felt tip pens, the Philadelphia Eagles and anything NASCAR.
Larry was also a proud member of the Bound Brook Elks and American Legion and volunteered with the Our Lady of the Mercy Rosary Alter Society.
Larry is survived by four younger siblings, Catherine Rajendra, Robert Schraeder (Rebecca), Joy Schraeder, Ruthann Crane (Steven) and his beloved nieces and nephews; Andrew, Matthew, Sarah, Jillian, Barry, Jennifer, Jessica, Chelsea and Brooke and a great nephew, Luke and great niece, Charlotte.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Holy Mass at our Lady of Mercy Church in South Bound Brook on Tuesday, December 17th at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center for Hope Hospice .
