Laurie During

Laurie Long During, 50, died Friday, February 6, 2015, at her home in Lincroft. Born in Piscataway and raised in South Bound Brook, she had lived in Texas for eleven years before returning to New Jersey in July. Laurie was a graduate of Bound Brook High School, Class of 1983, and continued her education at Taylor Business Institute. She was a legal secretary for many years and had recently become a licensed insurance agent, working for American Income Life Insurance Company, New Jersey. She loved camping, boating, animals, and spending time with her family. Laurie is survived by her parents, Shirley and John Long, Sr., of Georgia; her brother John Long, Jr. of Lincroft; her sister, Patty Dempsey and husband, Walter Gannone of Middlesex; her niece, Shannon Dempsey of South Bound Brook; her grandmother, Odelia Fluks of Middlesex, and many aunts and uncles. Funeral services will begin 8:15 A.M. Friday, February 13, at the funeral home, followed by a 9:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Church, South Bound Brook. Cremation will be private. Visiting will be Thursday, 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
