Kaz

Kasmier "Kaz" Blockus, 90, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2023, after a brief stay at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Born in Nanticoke, PA, Kaz was the son of Charles and Mary (Bunnor) Blockus. Kaz attended the Nanticoke Area Schools and enlisted in the Army serving from 1949 to 1952 where he was stationed in Korea. After being discharged he relocated to Bound Brook. He had been working at the Perrine's Esso station in Bound Brook where he met Theresa Kaczanowski, marrying her shortly after. Kaz worked at American Cyanamid for 28 years, retiring in 1990 as the captain of security. After retiring he worked as a crossing guard in Bound Brook. He was a member of the American Legion Giles Biondi Post No. 63 and a communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. He enjoyed NASCAR, trips to Florida and the macaroni and bean soup from Mountainview diner in Middlesex.

Kaz was predeceased by his loving wife, Theresa in 2021; brother John and sister Albina; he is survived by his devoted daughter Kathleen “Kathy” Blockus and many nieces and nephews.

Gathering will be 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. Entombment at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway will follow. Memorial donation’s in Kaz’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/
